Project Update: Dwarfs are finished!

Well today was a very productive day as I managed to finish the final 6 Dwarfs for my Dwarf army. The first up is a Dwarf Hero that no longer has rules printed and I can't remember his name, but I loved the model so I kept it around, I may just use him as a cool looking musician.



Next up are my two Rune Priests. Since they are the same model I decided to paint them as different as possible. I still used the army colors but just switched it up a bit to make them two distinctly different priests. I am sorry for the shadow I waited too late in the day to take these pictures.

Finally up last is my Engineering Corps. The first one is an older model that I have had laying around. The other two are the newer engineers that came out when the new Dwarf book arrived. I really love all three miniatures and had the most fun painting them.

Well that is it, my Dwarf army is now complete. I will get to work on making a full army post sometime in the next week. Now I have two finished armies, just in time for the release of 8th Edition Fantasy Battles. Now my next question is do I move onto painting my Vampire Counts or do I work on my Orcs to give them a much needed updated paint job and basing. The Orcs would probably give me another finished army in a short time, but I have really been looking forward to painting my Vampires. I will let you know what I decide soon.

Project Update: Dwarf Rangers

I finished the final unit for my Dwarf army. Here they are in all their glory, my Dwarf Rangers. They are painted in the same colors as the rest of my Karak Kadrin army. I am not sure if I will ever use them, according to other Dwarf players, they are not a good unit. Now if the rumors I hear about 8th edition missions having objectives are true,  then this unit may become more useful.

Now that this unit is complete, my Dwarf army is almost completely painted. I am down to six characters, 2 Rune Priests, 3 Engineers and an old Special Character. Once this army is painted I just have to decide if I want to paint my Vampire Counts, Beastmen, or work on updating the paint jobs on my Orcs and Goblins.

Project Update: Dwarf Quarrellers

Just a small update this week as I got busy building and converting some other miniatures as well as working on some terrain pieces that I will post up when they are complete.

I did manage to finish a unit of Dwarf Quarrellers. Unfortunately when making this post I already see some gems I missed so now I have to go back and do some fix up work.

With this unit complete all I have left is a unit of Rangers and a few character models and my Dwarf Army will be complete. As always any comments are welcome and thank you for taking the time to check out my blog.

Project Update: Tomb Kings and a Dwarf!

Well this was a nice week of painting for me and Fantasy Battles. I managed to get 3 characters done and thus push two armies closer to completion.

First up is my Dwarf Battle Standard Bearer. I have been holding onto the model forever. I love the model as it is very characterful. I enjoyed painting him and I can't wait to see him on the battlefield. Of all the GW Standards Bearers, this has got to be my all-time favorite and it was a joy to get him painted.

Next up came my Tomb Kings Icon Bearer. I have yet to use this guy in an army list but now that he is painted I may just have to give him a go. I stuck with the same painting scheme as the rest of my Tomb Kings and I am very pleased with the over-all outcome of the mini.

Finally the last model I completed this week is my Queen Khalida model. I like this model and in my army I use her as a Liche Priestess usually placed with my Casket of Souls.

With the completion of her and my Icon Bearer the Tomb King army is very, very close to completion
