My Dwarfs upgraded to 2500 points


There are a few tournaments coming up in early 2010 and all of them so far are going to be using 2500 point lists so I am in the process of adjusting my two painted armies up to 2500.

First up are my Dwarfs, for the additional 250 points I was able to add another Thane and a group of Thunderers. I was considering dropping the canon and taking a group of Slayers instead I am just not sure which I would get the better performance out of.

Anyway the list is below please look it over and feel free to give me any feedback you may have on it.

Very nice looking list - like the combos on the Lord. I would give all of your characters RO Fire to make them immune to flaming attacks from Lore of Metal (the one that increases in strength as yr AS improves). RO Resistance is also good on your lord.

Hammerers need Shields, their main job is to stay alive while your Lord does the killing. Think about adding RO Battle to their standard as well.

Can you fit in the points to upgrade a unit of Warriors to Longbeards? You can take 2 units with a Lord in your army.

I would also be tempted to drop 1 unit of warriors and increase the unit size of the Hammers, IB, LB and other Warrior Unit to 20-24.

Add RO Penetrating to at least 1 of your Bolt-THrowers so you have a Chariot killer.

With BSB have you considered the MR Gromil? Straight 1+ AS is invaluable.

Those are some great sugestions, the only one I can't do yet is adding more to the Hammerers as I need to get more models to accomplish that, but I may just have to do that.

I agree with John's comments, but would like to add my own comments.

The runesmith I would change his rune. At the moment he gets a one time chance to dispel, with the additional 50/50 chance to destroy the spell. I would instead give him two Runes of Spellbreaking instead. Gives you two chances to auto-dispel.

In my eyes, all dwarf missile units should be given shields and usually a musician.

I would also give the Longbeards a Rune of Battle for their banner - making them even more tougher to shift in combat.

The cannon is also better off with the Rune of Forging on it. Makes it much more reliable.

All good suggestions I will have to mess with my list abit now to see where I can get the points to do it all!
